چکیده

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most prevalent and lethal human cancers chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection accounts for up to 50% total HCC cases worldwide. Although resection surgery has been available as a curative therapy HCC, high rate recurrence remains big threat patient survival. Therefore, discovery valuable biomarkers selecting patients at higher risk key goal allow timely better treatment improved prognosis. Considering that microRNAs (miRNAs) have shown play important roles in all aspects development, this study aimed identify novel miRNAs with prognostic significance predicting HBV-related after surgical resection. A cohort 68 who underwent were retrospectively recruited divided into two groups: group (n = 43) non-recurrence 25). panel 380 analyzed whose expression ratio between paired tumor (T) non-tumor (NT) tissues was significantly altered groups associated post-operative recurrence. 9 (miR-142-5p, miR-145-5p, miR-148b-3p, miR-191-5p, miR-324-5p, miR-345-5p, miR-142-5p, miR-497-5p, miR-503-5p, miR-548b-5p) showed T/NT patients. Following multivariate recurrence-free survival (RFS) analysis, only miR-497-5p (T/NT) (> 0.97 vs. ≤ 0.97), miR-548b-5p 2.54 2.54), TNM stage (III/IV I/II) validated independent (hazard 0.173, p value 0.0013; hazard 2.720, 0.0092; 2.887, 0.0031, respectively). In Kaplan-Meier RFS low (T/NT), or displayed than (p 0.0037, 0.0434, < 0.0001, Furthermore, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis revealed had best performance, indicated by highest area under ROC curve (0.6902), followed (0.6502) then (0.6195). This suggests predicted

MicroRNA-29a-5p Is a Novel Predictor for Early Recurrence of Hepatitis B Virus-Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Surgical Resection

It is still difficult to predict the probability of tumor recurrence after resection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In this study, we set out to identify specific microRNA (miRNA) in microdissected hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related HCC tissue from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples which might be used in predicting early recurrence after HCC resection. Taqman low density arrays w...

Plasma miR-15b-5p, miR-338-5p, and miR-764 as Biomarkers for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

BACKGROUND Recently, increasing research evidence indicates that miRNA plays important roles in oncogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The objective of this study was to investigate the potential of plasma miRNAs as biomarkers for HCC determination. MATERIAL AND METHODS This trial included 4 phases: (i) miRNAs in tumor tissues were screened with a miRNA array for determining candidate...

Pre-S deletions of hepatitis B virus predict recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after curative resection

The relationship between hepatitis B virus (HBV) and the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after surgery remains uncertain. A retrospective cohort study was performed to evaluate the impact of pre-S deletions, T1762/A1764, and A1896 mutations on prognosis of HCC after curative resection. A total of 113 patients with positive serum HBV DNA (>200 IU/mL) who had underwent curative resect...

The Relationship Between Serum Interleukin-6 and the Recurrence of Hepatitis B Virus Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Curative Resection

The aim of this study is to assess whether preoperative serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) can predict recurrence of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The association between preoperative IL-6 levels and HCC recurrence following curative hepatectomy in 146 patients with chronic HBV infection was determined. Patients were divided into groups based on the presence or abse...

miR-182-5p promotes hepatocellular carcinoma progression by repressing FOXO3a

BACKGROUND High frequency of recurrence is the major cause of the poor outcomes for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). microRNA (miR)-182-5p emerged as a high-priority miRNA in HCC and was found to be related to HCC metastasis. Whether the expression of miR-182-5p in tumor tissue correlated with early recurrence in HCC patients underwent curative surgery was unknown. METHODS Real-t...
